Two Hyster solutions shortlisted for FLTA awards

3rd February 2017

Two innovative Hyster products have been announced as finalists for the UK’s FLTA (Fork Lift Truck Association) Awards 2017.

With zero emissions and advanced energy efficiency, the Hyster® J8.0XN Lithium Ion powered electric forklift has been shortlisted for the Environment category at the awards.

This truck represents a significant advance in the energy efficiency of a Lithium ION truck that can lift 8 tonnes. It also minimises energy loss from the battery to the transmission, offering around a 30% improvement of truck autonomy compared to competitors’ Lithium ION powered electric forklifts, even in intensive, high duty applications.

The unique combination of a Li ION battery with high voltage systems and multi-phase permanent magnetic motors delivers similar performance to an equivalent LPG model. In addition, the battery ensures long endurance and can be fully charged from flat in just two hours.

The Multi Tool Changer Attachment for Hyster Big Trucks is a finalist in the Innovation category.

This unique truck attachment solution has been delivered by the Hyster Special Projects Engineering Department to help overcome the challenge of handling varied loads with a ReachStacker. Using the easily exchanged attachment, applications can handle standard 20ft and 40ft containers, high top/curtain containers, cargo trailers and steel coils using the same truck.

When fitted to the Hyster® RS46-41XLS CH ReachStacker, the Multi Tool Changer Attachment can be used with a standard container spreader, an intermodal spreader or a C-hook attachment. For maximum flexibility, when a different type of tool is needed, the mast can simply be lowered into the required attachment.

The winners will be announced at the FLTA Awards ceremony, which takes place at a gala dinner on Saturday 4th March at the Telford International Centre.
