At the GreenPort Congress 2019 from 16th – 18th October in Oslo, Norway, experts from Hyster Europe will provide the latest updates regarding the zero-emission Container Handler projects underway at the Port of Los Angeles in the US and Port of Valencia in Spain.
The GreenPort Cruise & Congress provides decision makers from the port community with a meeting place to both learn about and discuss the latest in sustainable development and environmental practice.
At 9.20am on the 17th October, Willem Nieuwland, Project Leader for Hyster Europe, will be presenting the session “Alternative energy sources for mobile plant equipment” as part of the event’s focus on Green Technological R&D.
His presentation will include an update on the technology of the electrification of big trucks and continue the debate about fuel cells, charging and power supply in port operations. The session will explain why zero emissions is expected to be an important focus point for the future and how by electrifying ports and their equipment, Hyster® trucks can contribute to a better environment within ports.
Hyster Europe will also have a stand at the event, allowing visitors to find out more about Hyster® solutions for port and terminal applications for ‘green’ handling from ship to shore. This includes the two Laden Container Handlers and one ReachStacker currently in development which incorporate electricity at high voltage as the main energy source to power fully electric motors.
