The Hyster® H11XM-ECD8 / H11XM-ECD9 empty container handler was shortlisted for the Innovation award at the FLTA (Fork Lift Truck Association) Awards for Excellence 2018.
The innovative Hyster® empty container handler was recognised for its unique design which offers operations the significant productivity advantages of double container handling.
The innovative lift truck, which launched in 2017, features a redesigned mast which accommodates heavier weights and offset loading. It enables easy handling of two 40ft reefer containers, even when both refrigerator units are on the same side, which would normally cause an offset load.
New reinforced spreaders feature ‘reefer correction’ sideshift and several container engagement systems, providing double handling capabilities for any type of empty container.
As businesses no longer need to handle refrigerated units individually, time is saved in the daily handling of reefers, helping to bring down the handling cost per container and increase efficiency and productivity in container yard applications.
“The Hyster® empty container handler is intelligently designed to meet the specific challenges of tough port and terminal operations, providing durability while also helping to keep costs down,” continues Kate. “It’s fantastic that the innovation behind this truck has been recognised by the FLTA Awards.”
