The amount of goods being transported outside peak times is increasing to help reduce road congestion. This presents a challenge for urban retail warehouse facilities, which may be located close to residential areas.
To help busy retail centres meet noise emission regulations, particularly during night time unloading and loading operations, the Hyster® Pedestrian Powered Pallet Trucks operate at a maximum noise level of 70 dB(A) as standard. However, the new option, developed by the Hyster Special Engineering Team, further reduces the noise levels emitted to below 60dB in accordance with PIEK regulations*.
Noise reduction modifications made to Hyster® P1.6 and P1.8 Pedestrian Powered Pallet Trucks include hydraulic pump noise isolation and mounting designed to significantly reduce resonance. There is also an added clamp to prevent movement of the battery and foam has been used to reduce noise emission outside of the motor compartment, as well as along the length of the battery cover to remove the steel to steel contact point.
